Kevin Sparks joined the board in 2023, and his current term ends in 2028.

Kevin has been a Calaveras County resident since 1970. After college, he went into construction, primarily in Calaveras and Amador counties. Building commercial and residential projects was fulfilling, but he eventually transitioned into inspection. After nearly 20 years as a Division of State Architect inspector working on schools, he shifted to local residential and commercial projects as Amador County’s Senior Inspector for several years. He currently works for the City of Lodi as a Senior Inspector in the Community Development Building Department.

Kevin holds numerous certifications, including 53 from the International Code Council (ICC), among them the Master Code Professional designation. He is also an AWS-Certified Welding Inspector and a California Office of Emergency Services SAP Coordinator. He has degrees in Building Code Technology and Business Administration.

Kevin has been married to his wife for 40 years, and they have three great children who all grew up in Calaveras County. All of this, combined with his love for the Gold Country, helps him serve as a meaningful director for the District. He is reminded of the importance of that role every time he drinks the district’s incredible water.
